The HD3 of- fers improved rolling resistance and Eco Plus technology. Continental's ContiGOODSCasing features are also included for maximum retread- ability. It will be available now in size 295/75R22.5, with the remainder of the standard NAFTA sizes available at the end of 2012 and a ContiTread retread in early 2013. Also at the show is the company's new HDR2 in an 11R22.5 size, which Utility introduces high-strength steel options Utility Trailer announced Thursday, Aug. 23, that two new high-strength steel options will be made available for the 4000D-X Composite dry van in the fourth quarter. The high-strength steel side panel option, pres- ently available for the DX-100 only, comes as an alternative to the standard .040-inch aluminum side skin, providing a means of countering fl uctuations in the price of aluminum. Using the same exterior side skin material found on plate trailers, this new option features .016-inch high tensile 80,000 psi, pre-painted white, galvanized steel panels the full length of the trailer, including the front wall. Utility Trailer utilitytrailer.com Booth #12091 replaces the existing HDR1. Remaining sizes will be launched in early 2013. HDR stands for Heavy Drive Regional, and the tire has been engineered to improve mileage over its predecessor. The tire has a high number of lateral sipes extending all the way through the shoulders to maintain traction levels throughout the life of the tread. Its circumferential grooves allow for the evacuation of traction-robbing mud and water, while the tire's groove geometry reduces stone retention, Continental says. The oil was designed to help fl eets manage inventory costs by covering a wider array of engine options as well extend exhaust after- treatment, said Jim Gambill, North American industrial and commercial brand manager for Chevron. The oil, Del 400LE, carries a gaso- line engine rating, so fl eets will be able to use it in more vehicles and have a better handle on inventory control, Gambill says, adding that the new oil performs well in low temperatures and is validated down to -56 degrees Fahrenheit. Fuel economy, though, is the engine's main focus, and because it's synthetic, it won't be any more expensive than conventional blends.
