National Catholic Forester 24 JOIN HANDS DAY JHD 2017 Join hands Day is a national day of volunteering held the first Saturday in May. The goal is to bring youth and adults together to improve their community. St. Mary Magdalene Court 117, Mantador, ND joined the Sts. Peter and Paul Altar Society at their annual church dinner. Court 117 purchased ice cream and scooped sundaes for everyone gathered. St. Mary Court 657, Fort Atkinson, IA and their Junior Court 657 worked with members of St. John's Parish and the American Legion and Auxiliary to clean St. John's cemetery and chapel. They also placed American flags throughout the cemetery. The youngest volunteers were Kinsey and Maddy Rausch, in the chapel. The beautiful chapel was built in 1913. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Court 883, Breda, IA held a food and clothing drive for New Opportunities of Carroll, Iowa. They invited the community to join in, placing an announcement in their parish bulletin and local paper. St. Genevieve Court 1003, Wahpeton, ND hosted the May Birthday Bingo celebration at Leach Home. They supplied quarters as prizes and helped residents with bingo; a fun treat was angel food cake and strawberries as the birthday cake! Everyone had an enjoyable afternoon. ST.
