Luis Solari joins Nutrient Technologies N utrient Technologies has hired Luis Solari as its director of development and technical support. Solari specializes in agricultural prod- u c t d e v e l o p m e n t and management and has experience advancing product innovations from conception through commercialization. Solari previously worked for Wilbur Ellis, Marrone Bio I n n o v a t i o n s a n d Monsanto. Solari's new role will focus on field trials, coordinating independent research, product research and development, and expanding offerings to customers. New system allows tracking in case of recall D ynamic Systems of Redmond, Washington, has introduced its SIMBA 2017 system. SIMBA, which stands for Specialized Inventory Management with Barcode Accuracy, allows grow- ers, packers and shippers to trace their products in the event of a recall. Washington Tractor awards scholarships T he Hamilton Youth Foundation of Washington Tractor has awarded six $1,000 scholar- ships and two $1,500 scholarships to students in Washington's Okanogan, Chelan and Ferry counties. The recipients are Daniel Luquin of Brewster, Jessica Oules and Bryce Robison of Chelan, Neil Carleton of Manson, Olivea Oyler of Okanogan, Cassandra Lange of Omak, Derek Robinson of Pateros and Brenden Asmussen of Tonasket. New wider sorter from Key Technology K ey Technology has introduced its VERYX B140 sorter. The B140 is a medium capacity belt-fed sorter with a 1,400-millimeter-wide inspection zone, which is 15 percent wider than other similarly sized sorters. The B140 maximizes the detection and removal of foreign material and defective product, while minimizing false rejection of acceptable product. New press prints custom stake tags, hang tags, more P rimera Technology is now shipping a new, on-demand, full-color tag press. The GP3000 was developed specifically for the horticulture industry and prints both sides of pre- cut stake tags, hang tags, bench cards and other types of tags and signage. A built-in cutter trims the edges for full-bleed tags. The resulting tags are dispensed stacked and ready to use, with no tearing required. The machine allows growers to print tags as needed, without long lead times and order estima- tion required by off-site printers. Users can change text, graphics and logos on the fly.
