The book was written by José Quero Garcia of INRA, an agricultural research institute in Bordeaux, France, with help from Amy Iezzoni and Gregory Lang of Michigan State University and Joanna Pulawska of the Research Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice, Poland. The book, 550 pages and costing $205, covers the genetics, ecophysiology, production, protection and uses of cherries and presents up-to-date scientific data and applied information. Ag equipment company Jackrabbit buys SHuR Farms J ackrabbit, an agricultural equipment manufacturer based in Ripon, California, has purchased SHuR Farms, a maker of frost-protection machines. SHuR Farms, located in Colton, California, makes the Cold Air Drain frost-protection machine. It uses fluid dynamics to help growers avoid frost damage in pome fruit, stone fruit, grapes, citrus and more. Jackrabbit's products include the Prune-Rite, a self-propelled prun- ing platform, and CO Jack rodent control equipment. MeasureTek releases software suite M easureTek has released a fully integrated moni- toring and control software suite, MTx, designed to conserve labor, water, inputs and money by limiting the movement of water, fertilizer and chemicals below the active root zone. The system provides actionable and usable infor- mation for both basic and advanced users for real-time decision making. New nozzle extensions for Dramm foggers T he Dramm Corporation has introduced an optional nozzle extension for its line of TracFog PTO-driven fog systems. The extensions allow the fogger to treat individual Quonset greenhouses from the doorway just by driving alongside. BioSafe releases improved insecticide B ioSafe Systems has released a new formulation of its AzaGuard insecticide/nematicide. The change happened after one of the product's former inert ingredients was placed on a watch list by the Environmental Protection Agency.
