The Operations Manager is a great opportunity for someone with: • a successful operations background, • experience managing people, • strong organizational skills, • phenomenal energy, • a great work ethic, • an aggressive mind-set, • and some mechanical aptitude. The Operations Manager will report directly to the Senior Management team and will immediately be involved in the company's key decision-mak- ing processes. Responsibilities run throughout most aspects of the company so the ideal can- didate must be extremely proactive and willing to step in wherever needed. Responsibilities: 1. Crew Management Maintain and manage a comprehensive sched- ule for 20-30 install crews of 2 or 3 people, with consistent management of install backlog, ser- vice/warranty work, and attending to the "loose ends/ " 2. Shop Management Manage the wood shop, steel shop, and vinyl shop to ensure production stays ahead of daily install requirements. 3. Inventory + Equipment Management 4. Customer Service Answer phone calls and emails from customers, monitoring whether they had a positive or neg- ative experience. If they had a negative experi- ence, make determination how to turn it as pos- itive as possible. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • College degree desired but not required. We will seriously consider mature, professional can- didates with a high school degree who may have received a real-life education via the "school of hard knocks." • At least 3-5 years of overall working experience • Some supervisory experience and/or project management experience • Strong planning, organizational, and manage- ment skills • Knowledge of purchasing and budgeting • Mechanical aptitude • Computer skills – specifically Word, Excel, e-mail and basic data entry • Valid Driver's License with clean, insurable driv- ing record (we will run a background check) • Flexibility with scheduling and ability to work long days and Saturday mornings during the Spring and early Summer – typically the busy season • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Our Working Conditions: Hours vary during the year but Spring/early Sum- mer is typically the busy season and you will be expected to work reasonably long days, usually around 10 hours, plus Saturday mornings. The rest of the Summer and Fall requires similar work- ing hours during the week, plus every other Satur- day morning. Hours are somewhat curtailed in the Winter, depending on project flow.
