National Catholic Forester 28 MY FAITH The mind and heart of the Creator I am hearing it more and more lately after the devastating hurricanes that struck Texas and Florida and the earthquake in Mexico, and then with the continuing threats of several more hurricanes to come, "What is God trying to tell us" or "Is God punishing us?" I don't believe in a God who punishes us even when we have turned away. But I do believe in a God who invites us to share with him in a partnership of stewardship over all that God has created. Does that mean we can go ahead and do anything we want with creation? I don't think so. In my mind good stewardship begins with understanding the mind and heart of the Creator which begins in seeing and standing in awe of the goodness of all creation. When we are truly in contact with the heart of creation we will have a much clearer sense of how to use it in such a way that all people benefit and prosper and it thrives under our care.
