October 2017 | Overdrive | 63 Custom Rigs ReadeR Rigs Specialized duo Robert Pandullo, owner of Arara Transportation of Shoreham, New York, owns these two trucks, a 2005 Peterbilt 379 (left) and a 1994 Kenworth W900L. The Pete is spec'd for end dumps and cement tankers and typically pulls 117,000-pound pay- loads. It is powered by a 550-hp Cat and an 18-speed and features 8-inch stacks, a drop visor, a full gauge package and wood flooring. The Kenworth, named "Stolen Recovery," is used strictly for cement tanks and is equipped with a Cummins N14, a 15-speed, 6-inch stacks, a custom interior and a full gauge package. Gasoline machine Mike Hall of Errol, New Hampshire, drives this 2004 Peterbilt 379 owned by C. Bean Transport of Colebrook to transport gas throughout Maine and New Hampshire. The truck is powered by a 600-hp Cat and an 18-speed Fuller. Custom work includes front and rear polished fend- ers, a drop visor and 8-inch stacks with Pickett elbows. Diamond in the rough Kevin Parker uses this 2016 Peterbilt 389 owned by Elite Service Inc. of Denver, Pennsylvania, to haul aluminum extru- sions across the country to California. The truck is powered by a 525-hp Cummins and a 13-speed Eaton. It sits on a 275-inch wheelbase and features a diamond-plated deck plate, a Texas-style bumper and custom tarp boxes.
