Wilo USA, a provider of pumps and pump solutions for groundwater, water management, and building services, welcomes Darren T. McGuire as the new director of operations for their production and distri- butions facilities in Thom- asville, Georgia. He will be responsible for overseeing production and order flow through both facilities to uphold Wilo's high standard of quality and customer service. McGuire has more than 20 years of experience in the pump industry in a range of positions including application engineering, marketing, regional sales manager, and general manager. CK Drill, dba Diedrich Drill, has an- nounced the hiring of Brian Siwinski for the role of drilling specialist–safety/ operations/application. Siwinski brings more than 33 years of industry experience including drilling operations, managing drilling services, and contract admin- istration. In addition, he has extensive experience as an end user of the Diedrich Drill rigs and tooling, having been directly involved in the purchase of dozens of geo- technical and environmental rigs. In this role Siwinski will support all Diedrich customers by delivering safety trainings, operational instruction and in- sight, and by tackling tough field applica- tions. He will be available to all customers before, during, and after the sale to drive value and support efforts to improve their operation efficiencies and most impor- tantly safety programs. Water-Right Inc., an independent original equip- ment manufacturer (OEM) in the water treatment in- dustry, announces the hire of Vicki Andersen as asso- ciate brand manager. An- dersen assists in marketing efforts and upholding pos- itive brand images and long-term strategy for Water-Right wholesale product lines, including the Sanitizer and Impression brands. She brings nearly 20 years' ex- perience maintaining brand identities for a variety of OEM companies, including Briggs & Stratton and Pentair. Water-Right also announces the hire of Gary Bauer as the new CustomCare manager. CustomCare is the com- mercial division of Wa- ter-Right. Bauer will be involved in all features of the CustomCare division. This includes sales, technical services, and engineering. Bo Andersson, president of Flomatic Corp., received the 2M Vendor of the Year Award from 2M Co. President Buzz Mills at the 2M dealer meeting held on November 18, 2017, in Billings, Mon- tana. Andersson and Flomatic's excel- lence in service goes back to 1978 when 2M first opened and has continued, going on 40 years. Andersson's dedication to the water systems industry is an example of giv- ing back as he is a past president of the Water Systems Council and an active fundraiser for the Water Well Trust. For the fifth year in a row, safety manufacturer Ergodyne has placed within the top 10 of Outside Magazine's Best Places to Work. Each year Outside recognizes the top 100 companies in the United States that set the standard for workplaces that really value their employees and offer an experience that is fulfilling inside and outside the office. Ranking eighth overall, the St. Paul, Minnesota-based company was recog- nized as a top company that encourages employees to lead an active lifestyle, favors work/life balance, and prioritizes giving back to the community. The Wilo Group, a global supplier of pumps and pump systems for water management, building services, and the industrial sector, was awarded the 2018 National German Sustainability Award on December 8, 2017, in Düsseldorf as one of the top three of Germany's most sus- tainable large companies in 2018. The National German Sustainability Award is the national award for top perfor- mance in sustainability in business, municipalities, and research. The award is the largest of its kind in Europe, featuring five competitive categories. Around 7600 employees support the company worldwide. In-Situ, a manufacturer of on-site water monitoring instrumentation, acquired all the operations of Australian-based Measuring and Control Equipment (MACE) in 2017. MACE is a privately held company that has designed and manufactured ultrasonic flow meters, data loggers, and controllers for over three decades. Combined with MACE's flow measurement technology, the acquisition will allow In-Situ to expand into flow monitoring, a key water- related market across the globe. George H. Keys of Mendota Heights, Min- nesota, died peacefully on November 19, 2017. He was 88. He owned Keys Well Drilling Co. in St. Paul, Minnesota, and served as the National Ground Water Association Board of Directors Secretary in 1967. Keys was a longtime resident of St. Paul and an active member of many organizations within the community. Dean E. Rickard, of Linden, Wisconsin, died following a brief illness on December 6. He was 61. Following High School at Iowa-Grant, Dean joined his father, Bob, at Rickard Well Drilling. In 1978, Dean purchased equip- ment from his father and started Rickard Drilling Inc. He sold the company to Sam's Well Drilling in 1998 and worked for them until his death. In his spare time, Dean enjoyed building models of well drilling rigs and collecting toy construc- tion equipment. Dean was a member of the National Ground Water Association.
