yOur vOte cOunts In the last several issues of the NCSF magazine, we have mentioned that their will be an opportunity for each benefi cial member of the Society to vote for a new Board of Directors in April 2018. new bylaws In 2017, new NCSF Bylaws were approved. The Bylaws state that there will be a new process for election of it's Board members in 2018. candidates There will be eight positions on the NCSF Board of Directors in 2018 that need to be fi lled. We have 13 candidates that have expressed interest and submitted their application to become part of the NCSF Board of Directors. All candidates have undergone background checks and have proven to be suitable candidates. You will have an opportunity to vote for up to eight of these candidates to fi ll the Board positions. Benefi cial Members Elections will be conducted in April 2018 by ballots cast by all adult benefi cial members. A benefi cial member is an adult, aged 16 and over, that has an active life insurance policy or annuity issued by the Society. They remain a benefi cial member for as long as the certifi cate is in force. What to expect During the last week of March in 2018, each eligible voting member will receive a voting packet in the mail from National Catholic Society of Foresters. This packet will include instructions on how to vote by mail or online. The packet will also include short biographies of each candidate. These biographies appear in this issue of the magazine on page 8. vote by Mail If voting by mail, you will mark the candidates of your choice on the ballot and mail it back in the postage paid envelope. The address on the return envelope includes the address of our election partner – Election America. Election America will tabulate the votes for NCSF and let us know the outcome. vote Online If you choose to vote online, there will be instructions in the voting packet on how and where to logon to vote. email notices If you have provided NCSF with your email, you may receive voting notices from help@election-america.com. Please make sure you whitelist this address or add it as a safe sender to help avoid spam fi lters that may block you from seeing these emails. Voting will be open from April 1st until April 30th, 2018 It's up to you! Vote for the candidates of your choice – up to eight candidates ONLY ONCE. Election America will track voting and allow only one voting ballot per member. We encourage all benefi cial members to vote and to choose the Board of Directors that will move our Society into the future!
