FMCSA previously had granted a 90-day Military Skills Test Waiver exemption in 2011, but Virginia said that timeframe was too short. THE INTERSTATE 5 bridge collapse on the Skagit River in Washington State was caused by negligence by the truck's pilot vehicle, bad route planning by the carrier, a lack of low-clearance warning signs and an inadequate state permitting process, the National Transportation Safety Board determined in a report released last month. KINEDYNE, a cargo securement product maker, announced the five winners from its Mid-America Trucking Show contest for $1,000 shopping sprees for its products: David Brown, D&M Enterprises; John Griswold, Griswold Trucking; Lisa Prince, Johnny's Garage; Diane Doroff, S&D Express; and Shirley Battei- ger, K&B Hauling.
