Albuquerque to host NOMMA���s 2013 METALfab METALfab, the annual convention of the National Ornamental & Miscellaneous Metals Association (NOMMA), is scheduled for March 20-23, 2013 in Albuquerque, N.M. NOMMA is the trade association of the ornamental and miscellaneous metalworking industry. The show will be held at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque, 330 Tijeras NW, in Albuquerque. The hotel has reserved a special block of rooms for METALfab attendees. To obtain a special NOMMA rate, book before Feb. 24, 2013. Here are some of the highlights of the upcoming METALfab convention: First time attendee orientation Wednesday, March 20 This is an opportunity for first time attendees to meet the leadership of NOMMA/NEF and to learn more about NOMMA, the NOMMA Education Foundation, and METALfab. This event is not just for first time attendees ��� anyone who has questions and would like an event overview may attend. Opening session and annual membership business meeting Wednesday, March 20 This is the membership���s opportunity to attend the annual membership business meeting where officers and directors are elected, committee reports are submitted, and special recognitions are given. A special event for attendees is always the keynote speaker. Top Job competition Wednesday, March 20, 4:15 p.m. ��� 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 10:00 a.m. ��� 4:00 p.m. NOMMA member companies are given the opportunity to cast their ballot. One vote per company, so plan who will vote for your company, NOMMA states. Voting takes place on the trade show floor during show hours on Wednesday, March 20, 4:15 p.m. ��� 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 21, 10:00 a.m. ��� 4:00 p.m. Thursday night celebration and NEF auctions Thursday, March 21 Join other METALfab attendees for a night of fun, food and exciting auctions. All proceeds help the Foundation provide quality education opportunities for the ornamental and miscellaneous metals industry through continuing education programs, video productions, and educational publications, as well as supporting special projects important to the industry. Top Job Jamboree Friday, March 22 Once voting ends, the action continues during the Top Job Jamboree, where images are flashed on a screen and entrants describe their work. On Saturday, the contest winners are announced during the awards banquet. The grand finale is the presentation of the Mitch Heitler Award for Excellence, which is given to one gold award winner who shows exceptional craftsmanship. Partner in Education reception Friday, March 22 Join the NOMMA Education Foundation board of trustees for refreshments and fun.
