62 JANUARY 2013 WORLD FENCE NEWS Darrin Jones, regional sales manager, Southwest U.S. Ultra Aluminum, Howell, Michigan Let your fence pride show As first mentioned in the June issue of WFN, Bruce Schwartz, president of pioneering aluminum fence manufacturer Jerith Manufacturing Co., Inc. of Philadelphia (and now Delgard Premier Aluminum Fencing), has been in the business a long time and is proud of it. He shows his pride with this cool custom license plate on his personal vehicle FENC UIN. He wonders and we do, too how many other prestige license plates are out there that have a fence theme. Here are some plates sent in by WFN readers who saw Bruces plate in recent issues. If you own one, we urge you to take a photo and e-mail it to World Fence News so that we can begin a collection. Please tell us why you chose the particular wording on your plate, and include any other interesting details surrounding your choice. E-mail high resolution images to editor@worldfencenews.com. SECURE GATE SYSTEMS, INC. It was December 3, 2007 when I first started to work at Ultra Aluminum Mfg., Inc. in Howell, Mich. According to some economists with the government, that was the actual day that the Great Recession started. I promise that the two events were in no way directly related. Since then it has been an incredible journey and I will tell you why I am so proud to work there. I grew up in the fence business. My father, Spencer D. Jones, started Hammond Fence Sales in 1967 and later added many other fence companies in the Chicago metro area, including Fence City in Harvey, Ill. (Both enterprises are still in business some 40 Bill Brenner Fence Plus, Vista, California ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER OF HIGH SECURITY PANIC GATES (866) 725-6995 www.securegatesystems.net Check out World Fence News OnLine! www.worldfencenews.com LOGICAL DECISIONS, INC Operator parts Gate operators Support rollers Access control Roller covers Safety loops Timers Loop detectors S.O.S. sensors Safety edges Wheels, tracks, & rails Photo beams Battery backups Solar solutions Preformed fence ties 800-676-5537 www.LDI.com 225-274-1115 Ive been in the fence business for 24 years and I have always wanted a personalized license plate to reflect my passion, but all appropriate fence-related- plates were taken. That is until the advent of allowing symbols in the license plate in California in the late 90s. This opened up the options for my fence plates around the same time that I was deciding on a name for my newly established company. As I was on the fence, so to speak, on naming my company, the plus option made the decision easy. One of the plates is on my trailer and the other is on my truck. Matt Hall Fence4U Inc., Kaysville, Utah My name is Matt Hall and I own Fence4U Inc. in Kaysville, Utah. I dont put much on my car as far as advertising so this helps me appear more official as I pull up. We are a small fence company with only seven employees. I also have Fence4U and Fenc4U2. I love flipping through WFN to see whats happening in the fence world. years later.) He went on to start Jones Fence Enterprises and Southland Vinyl in his home land of Decatur, Ala. Then we founded Dura-Max Hardware together. When I found Ultra, or as I should say, they found me, I was running my own cabinet business and was super happy to get back in the fence industry. Never before have I been able to reach so many customers with such a broad array of products. As I introduce aluminum to markets that have not had a great presence of aluminum before, I feel somewhat like a pioneer out here in the great Southwest. Life is great as an Ultra representative and my door (and cell phone) is always open! New wood-alternative decking, railing added to Trex product line WINCHESTER, Va. Trex Company, the worlds largest manufacturer of high-performance wood-alternative decking and railing, is introducing the Trex Select decking and railing system, which brings the durability and aesthetics of the Trex brand to a new category of consumers. The high-performance decking and railing features a combination of design flexibility and long-lasting good looks at an affordable price point, the company said. Trex Select composite decking is wrapped in the signature Trex protective shell, which defends against severe weather, heavy foot traffic and everyday mishaps like wet planter pots, spilled food and dropped grilling tools. Trex Select resists both stains and mold, and guards against fading, while offering a soft, splinter-free finish that is comfortable underfoot. The product requires no sanding, staining or painting, and spills wash off easily with just soap and water. Trex Select decking is manufactured of 95 percent recycled content including reclaimed wood, sawdust and plastics while Trex Select railing is made from Fibrex, a material that contains 40 percent reclaimed wood fiber by weight. Trex Select decking is available in four nature-inspired colors with realistic wood grains Madeira (a redwood look), Winchester Grey (a rich and versatile grey), Saddle (a light brown) and Woodland Brown (a deep, earthy shade).
