Learning about trees from the perspective of the municipal arborists who are their stewards once they leave our nursery helps us grow better trees for greening our communities. The annual opportunity to connect face-to-face and network with the many friends we've made since our first conference in San Diego (2008) is INVALUABLE. SMA 2012 intern Johanna Arredondo hails from Norfolk, Virginia and studies urban forestry at Virginia Tech. Dorothy Abeyta is the special districts arborist for the City of San Jose, California and the President-Elect of the California Urban Forests Council.
