him to make it on his own. "We have a great family, and they have a big influence in our lives." He considers himself very blessed. Shayne is honored to serve as the Chairman of P&CMA this year. He hopes to help the association strive to make sure membership is strong because he believes we are stronger in numbers. He is excited about some of the changes the association has made this year to help members become involved in the association. "I can't stress enough the value of being a member of the association today especially with all the changes and challenges within our industry." to me that they would think enough of me to give me this opportunity. Hopefully I was an asset for them." Shayne also co-owns a daycare with his sister for the past 15 years. He is very proud of the business she has built. Her daycare, Kids World, Inc. brought a new climate of childcare to the Opp area. They introduced a learning curriculum for all the children in the center. Shayne says the industry is constantly facing new challenges, and P&CMA is there to help the members. Along with a challenging economy, gas prices at high levels, and increasing regulations, business owners can rely on the support of the association. " It is like having a resource that you would pay a lot for every year. They are here to help." This year Shayne hopes to see the association work hard to drive membership up. "We have to be able to talk to state and federal legislators and have a voice in the industry." Shayne & his wife, Suzy, have been married for 31 years. They met while he was playing baseball at Auburn. Suzy works part time as a cosmetologist, leaving time to spend with their grandchildren. Their daughter, Abigayle, runs the business office of R.S. Lord, LLC. She is married to Cory Wiggins, who in the owner of a floor covering installation business. They have blessed Shayne and Suzy with two granddaughters, Cuba and Shayna Gray. Their daughter, Carrie Lou, is employed by Horizon Corporation in the behavior unit at the hospital in Opp and attends classes to earn a second degree. Tragically, she lost her husband, Jonathon, in January. The Lords enjoy hanging out together at their hobby farm. Just getting together, grilling out, riding 4-wheelers, riding horses and enjoying a big bonfire are their idea of good family time. The grandchildren are blessed to have 4 great-grandparents still living. The families enjoy getting together often. Shayne says he owes a lot of his values to both his parents and Suzy's parents.
