The tour, from June 29–July 13, will visit Champagne, Burgundy, and Bordeaux to see the inner workings of France's wine industry. Dr. Thomas Henick-Kling, director of WSU's viticulture and enology program, says the France tour will visit wineries with staff that can share the specifics of their region, winemaking techniques, and grape growing practices, experiences that would be difficult for an individual to arrange. The wine tours provide continuVineyards east of Bordeaux, France ing education for newcomers as well as established industry veterans. WSU has hosted past tours within Washington and to Chile, Argentina, and New Zealand. Next January, the viticulture and enology program will tour Australia.
