Bacchus has established
a reputation as one of
Milwaukee's leading fine
dining restaurants, with a host
of accolades:
• 4-star review from Milwaukee
Journal Sentinel,
• Recognition by Wine
Enthusiast as one of America's
Top 100 Wine Restaurants,
• Wine Spectator Best of
Award of Excellence annually
since 2006.
Inspiration for a new
Bacchus experience came
from Joe Bartolotta, who
passed away in April 2019.
"My brother wanted to
create a vibrant environment
that complements the
incredible energy of our
guests, and the result is a new
Bacchus experience that will
stand as a testimony to his
life and legacy," says Chef
Bartolotta.
Located in the historic
Cudahy Tower overlooking
Lake Michigan, Bacchus has
been infused with a modern
aesthetic that juxtaposes
the old with the new. The
transformation has created
a more approachable,
comfortable atmosphere
throughout, making it a
restaurant for all occasions.
Guests will notice changes
throughout the restaurant,
from the significant design
and décor upgrades to the
server wardrobe and music
within the space. A new
lighting design in the dining
room and bar complements
the natural light from the
adjacent conservatory,
with a lighter, brighter feel
throughout.
Executive Chef Nick Wirth
spent much of his summer
hiatus rededicating himself to
his craft, experimenting with
new flavor combinations and
strengthening relationships
with local farmers and food
suppliers.
"We're so fortunate that
our guests have embraced
the diversity of our menus,"
he says. "Whether it's Italian,
French, or Vietnamese, it
gives us culinary license, the
freedom – so to speak – to
elevate our cooking using
classic as well as modern
techniques, and create full-
bodied, big-flavored dishes."
