It turns out that if you also read all the pump and oilburner
books out there that start from way back in 1911 or so you'll find
that most pump companies really don't like check valves, don't
require them and actually recommend against them, so that takes
care of check valves, I hope.
It's not my opinion boys and girls, it's the feelings of people who
make the pumps you are abusing and the people who put the original rules down for a well-designed fuel system. By the way, when I
have seen guys use a check valve and "fix it," it's because they have a
leak and couldn't find it or fix it or both, what's that say?
