Dreams Do Come True
The Evans Scholars Invitational made its debut on the Korn Ferry Tour
(formerly known as the Web.com Tour) in May 2019 at The Glen Club
in Glenview, Illinois, and returns this season for the 2nd annual event.
Dreams do come true on the PGA Tour—and they certainly did for the
23-year-old Texan, Scottie Scheffler, who won the 2019 Evans Scholars
Invitational at The Glen Club. Forcing a playoff with 54-hole leader
Marcelo Rozo and winning with a birdie on the second extra hole,
Scheffler captured the title for his first Web.com Tour victory. Scheffler
also went on to win at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship
in Columbus, Ohio, an event that was part of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals
(the Web.com Tour was renamed the Korn Ferry Tour in mid-season).
Scheffler led both the Finals points list and the overall points list to
earn a fully exempt PGA Tour card for the 2020 season. He was later
named Korn Ferry Tour "Player of the Year". Currently playing on the
PGA TOUR, Scheffler is one of the top 30 players to watch in 2020!
