buddies' golf trip, a family vacation, or a girlfriends' golf getaway is something the Gaylord Golf Mecca group will be happy to help coordinate for you. They will pair you up with perfect accommodations and courses to suit your needs and group size. My favorite part of any golf trip is that 19th hole glass of wine or two, specialty cocktails and a delectable dinner at a nearby local gathering favorite! Some of the best dining we experienced during our trip included Big Buck Brewery, Alpine Tavern, the Vista Room at Treetops, the Duck Blind Grill at Otsego Resort and Bennethum's Northern Inn. Food was over the top, with a variety of local specialties, superior hospitality and service, and unique chef-inspired creations. During a few hours of afternoon free time, we ventured to the quaint Alpine Village downtown area of Gaylord. With its Swiss- architecture landscape and relaxed small-town atmosphere, we traveled back to simpler times and warm hospitality as we popped in at the Sugar Bowl, Gaylord's oldest family-owned restaurant. They were celebrating 100 years in business with black and white framed photos covering the hallway walls reminiscent of humble beginnings and continuing through to the present day. Upon leaving the pub, we had to make a stop at the Alpine Chocolat Haus next door! Some of the best chocolate creations around, we stocked up on several bags of their famous Chocolat Haus Chips—dark or milk chocolate covered potato chips! Yum! A sweet and salty treat that is unlike any other! They have so many unique items that make great gifts for the chocolate lovers in your life. We had a hard time leaving this store!
