A
s the weather is starting to
turn colder and leaves are
falling, my mind can't help
but take a mini vacation back
to the natural beauty, serenity
and peacefulness of the Gaylord, Michigan
area. It was a late summer getaway--when
the town had quieted down, kids were
back in school, and cool fall weather was
starting to make a graceful entrance.
First of all, we love Michigan golf! If you
are a golfer in the Midwest, Michigan
golf is truly a golfer's paradise, with
fantastic vacation options and package
values just an easy drive away!
Home to so many top-rated golf courses, we
were extremely excited to experience for the
first time the "Gaylord Golf Mecca"
area of Michigan, home to 20 properties/
resorts and 20 championship quality golf
courses. During our visit, we also enjoyed
one-of-a-kind eateries and spectacular resort
lodging facilities—all preferred partners
of the Gaylord Golf Mecca group.
The two resorts we experienced during
our five-night stay were the Main Lodge
at Treetops Resort and Otsego Resort
in which we spent several nights at each
lodging facility. They both provided
various types of accommodations;
however, the Otsego Resort offered us a
unique experience at one of their private
group lodging facilities. With eight
separate beds and bathrooms, and a
large common gathering and dining area,
