A welcome from your KEY
to Metro Milwaukee
Those in the know predict 2020 will be a record year
for tourism in Milwaukee, but observers sometime
forget that the entire metro area will participate in the
tourism boom year.
The impact reaches north from Oak Creek to Port
Washington, as well as west of Milwaukee through
Brookfield and Waukesha County. Every hotel,
restaurant and retailer will benefit from the 50,000
plus visitors for the Democratic National Convention
and the huge international contingent of visitors for
the Ryder Cup at Whistling Springs Golf Course, less
than an hour north of Milwaukee.
Now is the time to talk about our entire metro area
instead of focusing on whether visitors are staying
outside Milwaukee proper. Hotel properties in
Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth
or Kenosha counties expand opportunities for us all.
KEY Milwaukee has long promoted these locations
through distribution of the only monthly visitor guide
to their hotels and visitor centers.
We believe that the successful campaign to bring
DNC 2020 to Milwaukee proved that thinking big
about tourism requires expansive involvement.
Visitors to Waukesha want to enjoy Milwaukee and
vice versa. Visitors arriving by trains, planes, buses,
auto and high-speed ferry fan out throughout the
metro area and KEY lets them know what is out there.
Looking beyond DNC 2020, the Ryder Cup and
(spoiler alert!) the NBA
Championship, it's time
to talk about tourism in the METRO AREA. Every
successful tourism month brings a new audience
for the advertisers in our monthly visitor guides,
tourism websites like keymilwaukee.com and social
media exposure on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and
Pinterest.
Help us tell the Metro Milwaukee story in our
showcase year of 2020. It will payoff in years to
come!
