Utility vegetation management (UVM) has a rich history of integrated vegetation management (IVM) and ecological stewardship. Incorporating IVM and ecology into UVM programming is a sound business practice and provides partnership and outreach opportunities within the communities that utilities serve. Colby Tisdale with ARBORMETRICS helps utilities promote wildlife habitat while achieving veg- etation management standards. Colby is passionate about conservation and has been able to capture photographs of wildlife on utility rights-of-way that he has helped manage. Some of those photos were used last issue in the Utility Arborist Association Spotlights. If you have any questions on IVM or how to promote compatible beneficial wildlife on rights-of-way please contact Colby at ctisdale@arbormetrics.com.
