The event, already canceled for 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic, was originally set for April 2021 in New Orleans. It now is expected to take place Sept. 30-Oct. 3 in New Orleans. "We're sure this will be disappointing to many, however the [board of directors'] consensus was that a postponement to the fall would be a safer, more prudent option, and allow our community and participating businesses more time to recover from the pandemic," Apostolopoulos said. The Specialty Coffee Expo, which attracts more than 14,000 attendees and more than 500 exhibitors, will include a Launch Party on Sept. 30 followed by the exhibition, educational programs and competi- tions Oct. 1-3. Registered exhibitors and attendees will receive information via email about the date change. If an email does not arrive, attendees are encouraged to contact Brittney Kushi at BrittneyK@sca.coffee. Exhibitor should send email to exhibit@sca.coffee. Café Show Seoul Still on for November The 19th annual Cafe Show Seoul may be the only major international coffee show that will actually be held in person this year. Recognized globally as one of Asia's most important food and beverage gather- ings, the show has made immense contributions to the growth of the coffee industry in Korea. Cafe Show Seoul is expecting more than 650 exhibitors and 3,000 brands to showcase their products to local and international buyers from Nov. 4-7, 2020 in a metropolitan city that handled the Covid-19 pandem- ic relatively well. At the show, a wide variety of products featuring coffee, tea, bakery, ice-cream, dessert, beverage, machines, equipment, and other services can be found throughout the 36,007sqm of exhibition space. For the in-person event, representatives say safety will be paramount. And there will also be a virtual component for those exhibitors and attendees who cannot travel to the event. At the 9th World Coffee Leaders Forum, a concurrent conference occurring alongside the exhibition on Nov. 3-6, significant topics — such as "Life after Covid-19" and impact of the novel pandemic on world coffee consumption — will be covered by major leaders of the industry, providing immediate solutions at this time for the world coffee community. Buyer registration for Cafe Show Seoul 2020 is available to international professionals in the industry, and online tickets are now available to the general public. Kahl Holding Strengthens Presence in Italy Italy is a land of good taste famous for its exceptional and high-quality coffees. So it goes without saying that Neuhaus Neotec, a leading global supplier of machines and plants for coffee processing strengthens its presence in the country of the dolce vita. Italy has always been an important country for the companies in the Kahl group, of which Neuhaus is part. Neuhaus Neotec especially set an important mark several years ago with the first delivery of a hot-air roaster to Italy to Gian Luca Venturelli of Lucaffè. "Gian Luca had the courage to be the first Italian specialty roaster to move away from drum roasting and towards hot-air roasting," says Dr. Victoria Behrmann, managing director of Neuhaus Neotec and Amandus Kahl. From now on, Ralf Torenz and Davide de Cristofaro will manage the activities in Italy from Bologna as the new managing directors of Neuhaus Neotec Italia SRL. And so Amandus Kahl, machine manufacturer for the production of pellets of different products also expands its presence in the land of the sun. Since August 1, Luciano Lodigiani supports the company in the sale of machines and plants for pelletizing of desired raw products and product mixtures. Besides Neuhaus Neotec and Amandus Kahl, Heinen Freezing, the third sister company of Kahl Holding also serves the Italian market. Of course, machines and plants for freezing are indispensable in a country with average tempertures of almost 30 degrees celcius in the summer.
