Carwan Gallery Design Miami/ first-timer Carwan Gallery presents the first major launch of collectible design by architect India Mahdavi. "India is an extremely creative architect and designer who uses her mixed cultural background to sharpen a unique vision in design," says Pascale Wakim, the gallery's director. "Her experience in the fashion industry has given her great skills in the manipulation of textures and color." The Landscape Series of vases and tables, produced by the Iznik Foundation in Turkey and commissioned by Carwan Gallery, is composed of two dining tables, two side tables and six large size vases. Landscape vases by India Mahdavi Dansk Møbelkunst Gallery Dansk Møbelkunst Gallery presents master works by Danish designer Finn Juhl, one of the most important figures in Danish design. Among the show's highlights is the Chieftain chair, seen here, designed in 1949 and regarded as one of Juhl's main accomplishments. The chair's form was inspired by the shapes found in early Egyptian furniture. Galerie BSL "I decided to dedicate my booth to a specific theme based on three materials: wood, rare hard stones, copper and its alloys," explains Béatrice Saint-Laurent of Galerie BSL. "Most of the pieces were commissioned for Basel and never shown before." Among the pieces being produced for the show is Faye Toogood's Caged Elements lamp, illustrated here. Other works include those by Nacho Carbonell, Taher Chemirik and Ayala Serfaty. 80 CULTURED
