About the cover: Apex Drilling LLC drills a 700-foot resi-
dential well in February in Burley, Idaho. The formation was mostly
basalts, but due to broken zones, Apex Drilling placed 8-inch
casing to 560 feet. The static water level is 540 feet. Apex Drilling
installed a 5-horsepower variable speed pump system, giving the
