Layton Blvd. Milwaukee yards run from kitsch to classy and all are on display in the show dome of Milwaukee's landmark horticultural center. Drawn from the Rubell Collection of Contemporary Art in Miami, the exhibit showcases works by many of the most important African American artists of the last three decades. Includes paintings, drawings, photography, videos , sculptures and mixed-media installations. Also running concurrently are separate installations featuring works by 30 Wisconsin African American artists, works in the museum's collection by African American artists and the five-channel video installation "Question Bridge: Black Males." The Dome Theater has undergone the first upgrade in a multi-year revitalization project. In addition to planetarium and 2D giant screen shows, the 263 seat theater is now equipped with 3D capabilities. With the addition of the 3D system, guests are now able to tailor their theater visit with the experience of their choice.
