The Warsaw event was originally scheduled for 2020 but postponed due to Covid. Over the past six years, World of Coffee grew from 45 exhibitors and 3,000 visitors to 240 exhibitors and 10,000 attendees. The show returns this year featuring new programs such as the Best New Product Competition & Display and the Coffee Design. These competitions sit alongside sensory experiences, like the Roaster's Village, where coffee roasted by the world's best coffee roasters is tasted and explored. Coffee sampling is also conducting in the tasting rooms as well as the Brew and Espresso Bars, where coffee will be prepared by skilled, volunteer baristas. This event will also host informative, live lectures by leading industry professionals, academics, and experts on subjects including organic sciences, emerging technologies, management, brand building, company culture, and marketing. A collection of printed educational materials will be available through the SCA store, which will also return to World of Coffee. World of Coffee Warsaw hosts the World Coffee Champi- onship competitors from around the globe for the World Latte Art Championship, World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion- ship, World Cup Tasters Championship, World Coffee Roasting Championships, and the Cezve/Ibrik Championship. These competitions award diverse and talented individuals with exceptional skills and a common passion for coffee from around the world demonstrating before a crowd of live spectators. "World of Coffee is a vibrant event for the world coffee industry comprising sensory experiences, live competitions, and innovative companies, products, and brands," said Yannis Apostolopoulos, chief executive officer of the Specialty Coffee Association. "It is a celebration of the international coffee industry and community and we are so honored to be heading to the beautiful city of Warsaw this year." World of Coffee 2022 will take place in Warsaw, Poland from June 23-25 at the PTAK Warsaw Expo. Small-Scale Aroma Recovery: Ideal for Coffee/Tea In 2021, Flavourtech launched the SCC100, the newest member of its Spinning Cone Column (SCC) family. The SCC100 has a throughput of 25-115 L/hr and retains the benefits of larger models while processing much smaller volumes for R&D applications or small production runs of high-value, low-volume materials. The new model can process liquid products such as coffee and tea extracts, wine, milk, and fruit juices. It is manufactured on a compact skid with lockable castors, has an easy-to-use touch screen and is quickly assembled, operated, and main- tained by the user. The benefits of the SCC include allowing companies to produce various flavor profiles from the same raw material. This facilitates product differentiation to more easily meet the taste demands of consumers in different countries and regions. SCC technology is already well established around the world for aroma recovery from extract in soluble coffee production. The smaller SCC100 now provides coffee compa- nies the opportunity to discover new aroma profiles using smaller volumes which they can then take through to their production process. The SCC100 also allows reconcentration of aroma to minimize dilution add-back prior to drying. The same applications can, of course, be applied to the tea or flavour industries.
