SMA BYLAWS COMMITTEE SEEKS YOUR HELP
The SMA Bylaws are the primary governing
document for our organization. Our bylaws
were last updated more than a decade
ago, and the SMA Board believes it is time
for a review. President Sam Oludunfe has
appointed a committee to lead this initiative.
The goal is to present any recommended bylaws
updates to members as part of the 2022 elec-
tion. That means the committee would like to
hear from members now. The current bylaws
are available on the website. The committee
has already concluded that significant refor-
matting is needed to make for easier reading.
They have also identified some other topics
for further exploration. But before they go
any further, they want to be sure they have
a complete list of member suggestions and
concerns to include in their deliberations.
Reviews and edits by the Board and legal
counsel will also be part of the process before
members are asked to vote. So don't delay—
send any questions or comments to the
Bylaws Review Committee by May 15, 2022.
