70 tobaccoasia Issue 6, 2022 November / December By Thomas Schmid It's been a long wait, but InterTabac and InterSupply at last resumed in what was been aptly termed as the "comeback of the year" in the trade press. And what an event it was! Perhaps the twin exhibitions emerged from the Covid pandemic even stronger and more confident than ever before due to an enormously improved, varied supporting program. More than 600 exhibitors from 69 countries showcased their products and services to a reported 12,100 visitors, an actual increase over the pre-Covid 2019 figures. Apart from long-term regulars such as Universal Leaf, Gizeh, Habanos, Hertz Flavors, Nicos Gleoudis, and many others, the 3-day event sprawling out across an incredible 10 halls (plus an atrium!) in the cavernous Westfalenhallen complex in Dortmund, Germany, also welcomed some 160 first-timers. "These superb figures and the consistently favorable opinions voiced within the industry show that, even after the compulsory two- year break, the twin shows in Dortmund remain the foremost meet- ing place for the global tobacco industry," said Sabine Loos, man- aging director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe, the venue's owner and operator. Back in Business After a two-year recess, InterTabac and InterSupply recently returned with a bang. Tobacco Asia recaps the "comeback of the year". As usual, the booth of German rolling papers company Gizeh was constantly brimming with visitors. German flavor company Hertz & Selck made a showing with a small but fine booth at InterSupply. Leaf merchant Alliance One enticed visitors with a chance for winning an Apple watch. A bird's eye view of one of InterTabac's well-attended 10 exhibition halls. InterTabac/Intersupply:
