Which biscuit with tea? The British Medical Journal
has published a peer-reviewed study in which different
biscuits (a.k.a., cookie), are tested to determine the optimal
accompaniment for a cup of tea. Titled DUNCS, for "Direct
Uptake of Nutrition and Caffeine Study: biscuit based
comparative study," the paper analyzes four biscuits: oat,
digestive, shortie, and rich tea. "Our study addressed the
multifactorial nature of tea making and biscuit choice to
better inform NHS staff when having a tea break."

How much caffeine, really?
In an illuminating video, YouTube's favorite coffee commentator, James
Hoffman, tests the caffeine concentration of different brews using a Lighttells
CA-700 Caffeine Analyzer (see below). The findings defy conventional
wisdom: espresso has lower levels of caffeine than filter coffee, instant less
than fresh, light roast less than dark roast.
