PUBLISHER'S WELCOME Welcome to an exciting new 2023 golf season, and our 21st Issue of GOLF NOW! Chicago, Chicagoland's Premier Golf Destination Guide. Golf in 2022 continued to break course "rounds played" records, even as we dealt with rising inflation and interest rates, new Covid-virus strains, wars, and a host of other national and international issues. However, the sport of golf is the one constant that provides us inner peace, camaraderie, escape from worry, and being one with nature. The next generation of pro golf stars will tee it up this golf season at The Glen Club for the exciting NV5 Invitational presented by Old National Bank on July 27-30. Scottie Scheffler, the 2022 Masters champion, won the inaugural NV5 Invitational presented by Old National Bank in 2019. Cameron Young, the 2021 winner, also used his victory as a springboard to PGA TOUR stardom. And just one year after outlasting Northbrook, Illinois, native Nick Hardy in a playoff, 2022 champion Harry Hall is playing on the PGA TOUR. Who will be next? For ticket, hospitality, and spectator information, visit nv5invitational.com. Ticket packages are on sale now for the 2023 BMW Championship. Cheer on the 50 Best PGA TOUR players, as they again compete in the FedExCup Playoffs for the top spot at the historic Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, IL on August 15-20. Defending champion Patrick Cantlay, the first player to win back-to-back BMW Championships since the FedExCup began in 2007, is expected to return alongside other fan favorites. Past BMW Championship winners include Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Tiger Woods and Jon Rahm, who won the 2020 event at Olympia Fields by making a 66-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole. Buy ticket packages now at bmwchampionship.com. Also, two must reads are our "Dream Destinations" for golfers and non-golfers alike. Our favorite local golf getaway that's an easy drive is our annual trip to French Lick Resort. If you don't golf, no problem, there is a great casino and event center, two fabulous pools, horse- back riding, hiking and jogging trails, nearby winery, the quaint town of French Lick, and so much more! Lastly---Relax, tee it up high and let it fly!
