I DA U N I V E R S A L Au g u s t - S e p te m b e r 2 0 2 3 4 EDITOR'S NOTES Tiff any Cabral Executive Director/Editor 2023 IDA CONVENTION AND TRADE SHOW September 19-22 Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliff s Resort Phoenix, Arizona I recently took a trip to Phoenix to do a site visit at the new location of the 2023 Convention and Tradeshow, there is a saying "Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together" and the same holds true for the Phoenix Hilton Tapatio Cliff s Resort. It is a gorgeous hotel with even more beautiful scenery and views. is hotel does not disappoint. If you haven't registered yet, this is an event you don't want to miss. With that being said, the convention plans are begin- ning to fi nalize. We are making this event memorable, from our opening reception at the State Farm Stadium, host to the 2023 Super Bowl, Metallica, Beyonce and so many more, to the majestic mountaintop views from locations all around the property. Nestled along a mountainside in the middle of the Sedona Desert the breath- taking sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed from anywhere on the property or along the miles of trails leading off property. One thing I learned while exploring the city was to stay hydrated and most importantly drink your electrolytes! To those that will be golfi ng, hiking, and exploring heed my warning! We will have hydration stations throughout the event to ensure we are all staying hydrated. For those of you who prefer to stay indoors, there are several restaurants on the property from casual café style to fi ne dining where you can enjoy the breath- taking views, a spa and salon to enjoy some downtime, or hang out by the pool at the Falls Water Village. Wherever you are and whatever you are doing you don't want to miss an Arizona sunset! Now down to a little business, we are approaching an election year for the board and are looking for qualifi ed candidates to help us to continue the momentum and trajectory of continuing to improve your association. As Lance mentions in his address, there is a reason why it is called "serving" on a board. is association needs active members to assist in making sure this association is providing the necessary support to your company and ensuring the association continues to service the a ermarket parts industry. Board members provide critical intellectual capital and strategic resources to power nonprofi t success and strengthen communities. For many people, serving on a board allows them to make a diff erence in their community and support a cause that they care about. Not only are you making a diff erence within the association but joining the board of directors can strengthen your professional credibility, grow your professional network, gain exposure and insight, and increase the visibility of your company. If you are interested in serving, please reach out to me or a member of our staff and we will be there to help you get started. Lastly, I want to touch on a few things happening at the convention. Does your company have a new product/service to showcase? is year we are off ering a unique platform for companies to have the exclusive attention of our attendees to increase brand success through engagement and meaningful interaction at our Product Expo. is Product Expo diff ers from simply displaying items in your tradeshow booth by allowing companies from the a ermarket industry to display, demonstrate, and discuss their latest products and services with the advantage of doing so in front of a captive audience. is event will take place on ursday before the tradeshow. is is an excellent opportunity to connect with potential new customers, reinforce relation- ships with dealers and distribu- tors, and gain exposure through social media with professional photography and videography at this event. Also happening on the tradeshow fl oor, we will be conducting interviews with our members to add to our website, social media, and on the "Insight on Business" podcast that airs daily. If you are interested in either of these events, contact the IDA offi ce for more information or to sign—up to participate. We are excited about Phoenix and look forward to seeing you there! Let the count- down begin! Looking Forward to Phoenix
