WHAT TO EXPECT As our name and look changes, members should feel assured that our mission is not changing. We will continue to work to build the confidence, com- petence, and camaraderie of all professionals who manage trees and forests to create and sustain more livable communities. UCFS is the profes- sional membership home for people who make or support daily tree planting and care decisions. What you will see is an organization more strongly supporting the profession of urban forestry through advocacy, analysis of best practices, promoting the latest science, focusing on workforce and professional development, getting you a seat at the table, and more. That's the power of association: like-minded people pulling together to amplify their purpose. Trainings like the Municipal Forestry Institute (MFI)— new and improved in 2024—and other UCFS programs will continue to help you and your colleagues grow as professionals so that you feel equipped to best lead your urban forestry program. You are the front- line workers making urban forestry happen each day. UCFS stands ready to help you in your work through networking, knowledge sharing, and learning. What is changing is our logo, website, and commit- tees. Our new website puts our best face forward. It's cleaner and easier for you to navigate, and it shows the world the importance of this profession. Expect the website to expand with new resources, dedicated member benefits, and more over the coming year. Our committee structure is also changing, with new committees focused on Young and Emerging Professionals, Professional Development, Industry Trends, and Outreach—to name a few. These new committees are essential to help us meet the goals of our organization's strategic plan. We hope you'll consider joining a committee and helping to lead. To our current members, we thank you for your continued support and vital work helping us get to this point. To our future members, we can hardly wait to have you join.
