In recent years the popula- tion of the engine types has changed a lot and now we also stock the C-series and 3500 series parts from fi lters to cylinder heads, gasket kits, liner kits, valve components, fuel equipment, coolers, pumps etcetera. We recommend everyone to become an IDA member. If you want to meet interesting people who can help you grow your business and share knowledge and experience with you. As a bonus, you can build long-term relationships and friendships that go a long way. Whenever we can fi nd the time to travel, we like to go to the IDA conventions and learn and share some of our stories and knowledge with the members of IDA. We enjoyed the Phoenix AZ convention a lot and hope to meet with all our fellow members again next year in Philadelphia. ● W.K.M. Cornelisse Trading B.V. was founded in early 1998 as a wholesale company specializing in the supply of marine diesel engine spare parts. A er working with several other companies in this fi eld I thought the time was ripe to found my own company and I started to contact some manufacturers and contacts I met during the previous years. I used to buy from FP Diesel and they supported me with technical and commercial information to start building our inventory of parts. Mainly for Caterpillar marine engines such as 3304, 3306, D343, 3406, 3408, 3412 and the older 6 ¼" bore engines such as D353, D379, D398 & D399. Soon a er I started, I ran into problems fi nding "Genuine" Caterpillar parts at a decent price in Europe. I started to search for new contacts in the USA and some IDA members like Norman Carter of Jaytrac and George Korody helped me to locate parts and suppliers in the USA. at was the main reason to join the IDA from the year we started trading. e fi rst IDA convention I visited was Acapulco in Mexico which gave me a lot of new contacts both in the US and in Italy. With some of the IDA members we started trading and they taught me some inter- esting routes to get the needed "Genuine" parts to comple- ment the line of replacement parts we were stocking. Slowly we got more enqui- ries for other Caterpillar parts than engine-related parts and this moved us towards some industrial natural gas engines used in our greenhouses. We started dealing with spark- plugs and also some hydraulics and fi lters for earthmoving machines. Since the day I started my company, I thought it was important to stock parts, especially in the marine fi eld lead times are crucial. When a big ship has downtime due to a lack of parts it costs a lot of money per day. ere- fore, we always invested in our inventory and we also started buying surplus stocks and some complete engines to dismantle for parts and cores. When the Gulf War broke out, we had to source a second supplier for our replacement parts because FP Diesel was selling most of their inventory to the US Army at that time, so we started to work with Mahle Clevite and took on some of their parts. Further, we became the EMEA distributor for McDermott Light & Signal based in New York, they have a product line of battery and solar-powered navigation lights for the marine industry and we stock their whole product line. We also stock a line of li ing gear such as round slings and fl at webbing slings. All these products helped us to become a one-stop shop for the shipowners in the Netherlands and slowly further in time for a lot of international global shipping companies. Now we stock a ermarket, used, remanufactured, and so-called "Genuine" products for most American-produced diesel engines such as Cater- pillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, and IH-Navistar. During the last 25 years, we visited a lot of the IDA conventions and we always run into interesting people, both clients and vendors. Marina my partner in life and the company became friends with some IDA members and we traveled together with them in the US, Europe, and Canada. One of our highlights was the IDA convention we visited in Banff Canada and we also joined the pre-convention tour where W.K.M. Cornelisse Trading B.V. [[[[OQGSVRIPMWWIGSQ8IP Years of IDA Membership
