IPD's new headquarters located in Carson, CA is three times the size of their previous warehouse Before IPD became a global powerhouse in heavy-duty engine parts, it was a visionary venture between friends Bob Rasmussen and Walter Storm. Both with backgrounds in manufac- turing and distribution, particularly in off-highway products, they embarked on a journey that would reshape the industry. The duo started by packaging gasket sets for Caterpillar equipment, laying the foundation for their own gasket set product line. The Industrial Parts Depot (IPD) offi cially came into existence in 1955, marking the commencement of a remarkable story of innovation and growth. Innovations that Defi ne Excellence: A Legacy of Firsts IPD's commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in heavy-duty engine parts has been a constant theme throughout its history. The company has a rich legacy of groundbreaking innova- tions, including the devel- opment of induction- hardened cylinder liners, the introduction of the fi rst 3-ring piston for Cater- pillar 3208 engines, the introduction of IPD 1-2-3 gasket sets, crevice seal liners, and most recently cryo-treating head bolts and stud kits. These products showcased IPD's ability to anticipate and meet the evolving needs of its customers, setting the stage for the company's continued success. New Headquarters, New Horizons Almost 70 years later IPD completely outgrew its existing headquarters and warehouse in Torrance, CA and recently moved into a state-of-the- art warehouse and headquarters nearby in Carson, three times the size. IPD President Michael Badar empha- sized the exponential growth IPD has experi- enced over the past fi ve years.
