UCFS Conference and Tradeshow We're so excited for the annual UCFS Conference and Tradeshow being held in Chicago, Illinois, November 18-19, 2024. The theme this year is "Growing Together" and will highlight the smart, innovative ways urban foresters work to bring more people to the table. Presentations will explore the partnerships among government entities, non- profits, and private businesses that are essential to ensuring a healthy urban tree canopy. Attendees will leave the conference with practical, operational tips and ideas that can be implemented right away. Conference-goers will also have the opportu- nity to join a pre-conference tour of a portion of Chicago's "Emerald Necklace" boulevard-and-park system, including the Garfield Park Conservatory and the "greenest street in America," where inno- vative stormwater practices are being trialed. Networking opportunities offered throughout the conference will allow you to connect with your fellow tree people—the people who truly understand your work—and leave you inspired and refreshed. This includes a Municipal Forestry Institute (MFI) reunion, the new LGBTree affinity group meet- up, and a reception for members and friends. After the UCFS conference ends, make sure you stay for the Partners in Community Forestry confer- ence, held November 20-21. Registration will open in late July. Check out the UCFS Conference website for more details and make plans to join today! Registration for MFI 2025 will open on August 1, 2024! The Municipal Forestry Institute (MFI) is an exciting, high-level training opportunity that guides profes- sionals in the leadership and managerial aspects of urban forestry. This week-long intensive educational program delivers a challenging, yet rewarding, opportunity to learn how to grow more successful community tree programs. Attendees will master leadership and management tools of program administration, coalition building, strategic thinking, program planning, and public relations by investing a week in their personal growth and development. Register your interest now for MFI 2025! UCFS conferences offer unmatched networking and camaraderie.
