Renaissance Theaterworks
Renaissance Theaterworks production of The
Nether, by Jennifer Haley, a dystopian tale set
in the near future, runs Jan. 12-Feb. 2 at
255 S. Water St. with previews Jan. 10 and 11.
Directed by Elyse Edelman, a Milwaukee
native, and featuring local actors DiMonte
Henning, Josie Van Slyke, Zoah Hirano, Laura
Gray, Steve Koehler and C. Michael Wright, the
play explores unspeakable crimes committed
in cyberspace. A young detective seeks
justice, launching an investigation that takes
her into the very dark corners of virtual reality.
Suggested for Adults/Older Teens due
to strong language and mature themes,
specifically, discussions of virtual crimes
including murder and sexual abuse. There are
no enactments of sex or violence depicted.
The Nether runs for approximately one hour
and 20 minutes. To purchase tickets,
call (414) 278-0765 or visit rtwmke.org
