WORLD-CLASS FISHING Here's your invitation to extraordinary fishing! Williston is located near the Missouri-Yellowstone confluence and Lake Sakakawea — a renowned 368,000 acre fishery that brings anglers from far and wide for tournaments and recreational walleye, perch and northern pike fishing. North Dakota has year-round fishing for most game fish species, so bring your boat or your icehouse. Williams County is the place for fantastic fishing, 24/7/365. GIANT PADDLEFISH This is one of the very few places where you can snag one of these giant prehistoric river monsters. This short annual snagging season begins May 1 and is only open for a few weeks. It requires a separate tag available from North Dakota Game & Fish. The state record paddlefish weighed 131 pounds! Scan for links to licensing, regulations, lake maps and more. 10
