Now NBA Cup Champs,
Bucks getting stronger
Ending 2024 by winning the mid-season
NBA Cup tournament, the Milwaukee Bucks
entered 2025 on a high note. And despite
a couple of slips, by the end of January the
talented team looked primed to contend for
another NBA championship run.
The NBA Cup victory over the Oklahoma
City Thunder demonstrated how far the Bucks have come
after a slow start this season. Coach Doc Rivers' team now
blends the talents of superstars Giannis Antetokounmpo
and Damian Lillard with the skills of veteran Bucks like
Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis and talented newcomers like
Taurean Prince, Andre Jackson Jr. and Gary Trent Jr.
Criticized in the past for its defense, the team has
dramatically improved in that area, as shown in the NBA
Cup championship when they held their opponent to only 81
points. Blocked shots by Antetokounmpo and Lopez now
are regularly featured as "plays of the day."
Fiserv Forum, located downtown in the Deer District, is the
state-of-the-art home of the Bucks. The team plays six home
