Next Act Theatre
Next Act Theatre's Milwaukee premiere
production of The Children addresses
timely themes of nuclear power, physics,
environmental issues, and personal
responsibility. The production runs
Feb. 14-March 9 at 255 S. Water St., with
previews Feb. 12-13 and a Pay What You Can
performance March 3.
Written by Lucy Kirkwood, The Children
debuted at London's West End in 2016, and
transferred to Broadway in 2017. Although
she set the play in England, Kirkwood was
inspired by the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi
nuclear power plant accident in Japan.
Directed by Marie Kohler, The Children
features actors Mary MacDonald Kerr (Red
Herring) as Hazel, Brian Mani (The Voice of
the Prairie), who is married to Kohler, as Robin,
and Shariba Rivers, appearing in her Next Act
debut, as Rose.
