By mid-April, hitters and pitchers were rounding into shape for manager Pat Murphy. Veteran Freddy Peralta leads an improving pitching staff made up of several hurlers who are new to the major leagues. At the plate, catcher William Contreras earned his first "player of the week" honor of the season for his performance against the Colorado Rockies. Other Brewers whose bats came alive in April include veterans Christian Yelich, Rhys Hopkins, Bryce Turang and Sal Frelick, as well as second-year star Jackson Chourio. One thing is certain: seats at American Family Field are always filled for early-season games. And there are no rainouts, thanks to the field's retractable roof. The Bucks first-round playoff opponent was the Indiana Pacers, the team that knocked them out of the playoffs in 2024. But this year, superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is healthy and leading a squad that won the last seven games of the regular season. This season the Bucks added the offensive and defensive talent of Kevin Porter and Gary Trent Jr. to a lineup that includes Brook Lopez, the NBA's top shot blocker, and Bobby Portis, who returned to the lineup in late April after a suspension. Damian Lillard, one of the league's top three-point shooters, was sidelined by an injury and is questionable for the playoffs. Fiserv Forum is the Bucks home court and the surrounding area, known as the Deer District, includes a hotel, restaurants and the Bucks Pro Shop offering a complete line of Bucks caps, jerseys, shirts and more.
