52 tobaccoasia Issue 4, 2025 July / August By Thomas Schmid Counterfeiting remains a formidable challenge for global industries, and among the most heav- ily targeted are tobacco, vaping, and heated tobacco products. As authorities and brand owners continue to battle the illicit trade, the need for reliable, tamper-resistant security features has never been greater. Technologies such as hidden image embossing and debossing, as well as len- ticular foil embossing (not to be confused with traditional holographic stickers), are leading the charge. These innovations are discreet yet robust, embedding visual cues directly into packaging materials to differentiate authentic products from fake replicas. As counterfeiters become more adept at imitation, incorporating multi-layered and proprietary security features has become es- sential not only to protect revenues, but also to uphold public health and brand credibility. A united front: three firms, one integrated solution Meeting this challenge effectively requires a high level of technical precision, design sophisti- cation, and cross-border collaboration. This is where the strategic partnership between Nau- tilus Ltd., Arden Dies Ltd., and Marbach Group shines. Each company plays a distinct but complementary role in the design, manufacture, and global distribution of advanced security features. With Nautilus spearheading conceptual development, Arden transforming designs into production-ready tools, and Marbach facilitating global access and integration, this triad forms a powerful ecosystem capable of outmaneuvering counterfeit operations at scale. Synergies in Producing Security Features for Tobacco Products Three specialized firms' close collaboration creates security products that give counterfeiters a hard time.
