36 keymilwaukee.com S P O R T S BREWERS ON FIRE NOW What a difference a month makes After starting the 2025 season very slowly and falling behind the Cubs, Cardinals and Reds, the Brewers in June and July recorded the best record in baseball and moved at the All-Star break to only one game behind the Cubs in the National League's Central Division. Outstanding starting pitchers, led by veterans Freddy Peralta, Jose Quintana and a healthy Brandon Woodruff, were joined by 23-year-old Jacob Mislorowski, whose pitches routinely hit 103 mph, impressing fans, opposing teams and at least one Cy Young Award winner. The Brewers also have backed starters and relief pitchers with timely hitting by veterans Christian Yelich with 19 home runs and Rhys Hoskins with 12. And in only his second season in the major leagues, Jackson Chourio continued to impress with 16 home runs, 16 stolen bases and 62 runs batted in at the All-Star break.
