BRUNO MONTESANO, JR President PRESIDENT'S POST THANK YOU TO OUR PLATINUM SPONSOR IDA Universal Aug - Sept 2025 6 The Lighthouse Effect veryone knows what a lighthouse is and for what they are meant. E A lighthouse has some note- worthy features that are easily recognizable. ey are always located in an area near water in a specific spot to be seen from afar, they are tall buildings and have a rotating light at the top as to keep ships away from the coastline and avoid them from crashing into the mainland. ey are useful to guide the ones who needs them. When you think about your life, you as a child had a parent who was your personal light- house. Later in life, when you started your first job, you most likely had a trainer, or even a mentor you looked up to for guidance. at was your profes- sional lighthouse. Now, you are – knowingly or not – most probably someone's lighthouse. Whether it be your children, athletes you have coached, or even an employee that you are guiding towards success. You are a mentor to someone. You are the guiding light for someone. You are their lighthouse. How you conduct yourself, how you manage daily tasks, how you negotiate, how you treat people around you, these are what the people who are attracted by your "lighthouse" see and learn from. Do not be shy to be the very best "lighthouse" in your company. Be the mentor, the guide, and the trainer everyone wants to emulate. Your common success depends on it. e IDA could be someone's lighthouse. We are an organiza- tion of independent distributors that operate successful business- es in a world of giants. We are individuals who know what it takes to build success, and value hard work and dedication. e people in your organizations see it and will do all it takes to achieve your common goals. e IDA has been around for more than 60 years and was built by pioneering "lighthouses". Our founders had very different challenges back then than what we have to deal with today, but the main objective remains the same, and if anything, it is even more important that we unite and stay strong to achieve our objectives. Today's challenges are technical, policy driven, global- ization, and many more, but we are built to work around these challenges. I hope that many of you will join us at our upcoming conven- tion in Dublin, Ireland. Our first time outside of North America since 2008. is convention will be IDA's return to Europe. Our roots are in Europe. Many man- ufacturers who were with IDA since the very beginning were European companies of which many are still long-standing members. is year's convention will be filled with many excit- ing things, like our discussion panel, a factory tour, sightseeing tours, and our Past Presidents' luncheon to name a few. We will have more discussions on the topic of "Right to Repair" and what the next steps are; and they're big! Come and say hi in Dublin. Make your presence a must. Be there, be seen, be heard. Be a LIGHTHOUSE! Be well and keep your eye on the ball! Bruno
