In September 2026, the PGA TOUR
will shine a global spotlight on Chicago
as Medinah Country Club's legendary
Course No. 3 hosts the 16th edition
of the Presidents Cup, September
22–27. Since its inception in 1994,
the Presidents Cup has evolved into
far more than a golf tournament. This
biennial team competition pits the United
States against an International Team
representing the rest of the world outside
Europe, but its essence lies in something
deeper—sportsmanship, camaraderie,
and a celebration of global goodwill.
Medinah becomes the sixth U.S. venue
to stage the Presidents Cup, adding the
event to an illustrious resume that includes
the Ryder Cup, BMW Championship,
two PGA Championships, three U.S.
Opens, and the U.S. Senior Open.
Presidents Cup
Unlike traditional stroke-play tournaments,
the Presidents Cup thrives on team pride
and national representation. Its match-
play format fuels high-energy drama,
passion, and patriotism—moments
that have defined modern golf history.
Legends such as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold
Palmer, Gary Player, Ernie Els, and
Tiger Woods have captained teams,
while world leaders have served as
honorary chairs, underscoring the
event's stature on the global stage.
In 2026, that global stage will be bigger
than ever—the Presidents Cup will be
broadcast to more than 200 countries
and territories in 30 languages through
39 broadcast and digital partners,
highlighted by NBC's primary telecast.
