IDA Universal Q1 2026 10 2026? How Do I Make More Money in Why Connection, Intelligence, and Industry Involvement Will Define the Next Area of Profitability By Tiffany Cabral, Executive Director, Independent Distributors Association Across boardrooms, ware- houses, and global trade events, one question is being asked more frequently—and more urgently—than any other: How do we make more mon- ey in 2026—and beyond? Aer decades working along- side independent distributors and suppliers, I can say this with confidence: the answer is no longer found in a single operational tweak, pricing strategy, or technology invest- ment. Profitability today— and tomorrow—is shaped by who you are connected to, how informed you are, and how actively you participate in the industry shaping your future. e companies that will outperform in 2026 are not simply reacting to change. ey are present in the conversations, collabora- tions, and decision-making spaces that influence where the heavy-duty aermarket is headed. A Market at Rewards Agility, Not Isolation e global heavy-duty aer- market is evolving faster than at any point in recent mem- ory. Supply chains are more complex and international. Customer expectations con- tinue to rise. Competition is sharper, smarter, and increas- ingly data-driven. At the same time, margins remain under pressure, labor challenges persist, and regulatory and economic uncertainty add layers of complexity to long-term planning. One thing has become abun- dantly clear: operating in isolation is no longer sustainable. e most resilient companies I see are those that prioritize industry intelligence, peer collaboration, and early vis- ibility into emerging trends. ey understand that long- term profitability depends not only on serving customers well—but on staying deeply "e aermarket no longer rewards those who wait and see. It re- wards those who engage early, learn quickly, and move together." Why Network Access Is a Revenue Strategy One of the most powerful— and oen overlooked—driv- ers of financial growth is network access. A strong industry network accelerates trust, compresses timelines, and opens doors that are difficult to unlock independently. It creates opportunities for new part- nerships, smarter sourcing, shared solutions, and earlier awareness of market shis. rough involvement with the Independent Distributors Association (IDA), compa- is network is not about collecting business cards. It is about shared knowledge, strategic align- ment, and collective ad- vancement. For many IDA members, network engagement trans- lates directly into: - New business opportunities and deal flow - Earlier insight into pricing pressures and supply challenges - Smarter sourcing and distribution strategies - Increased visibility and credibility within the global aermarket In a competitive environ- ment, access is advantage— and advantage drives revenue. Turning Engagement Into Measurable Growth Membership alone does not drive profitability. Engagement does. nies gain access to the largest global network of indepen- dent heavy-duty aermarket distributors, suppliers, and industry leaders. connected to the industry itself.
