SHERIFF'S STAR 11
SHERIFFS 2026 SUMMER CONFERENCE
Florida's sheriffs joined together in Miami-Dade County to compare notes, align strategy, and build the relationships that make the next call for backup a fast one. A sheri's authority stops at the county line, but the cartels moving drugs throughout the state don't check jurisdiction maps, and a missing child doesn't wait for one county to hand a case to the next. This year, Florida's stats are more impressive than ever and are noticed outside Florida. Representatives from the FBI, the DEA, the White House O…ce of National Drug Control Policy, and the U.S. Border Patrol joined sheris to discuss internet crimes, immigration enforcement, missing persons, and the fentanyl crisis. State leaders from the Governor's office to the Legislature joined the conversation, ensuring that law enforcement is supported at every level of government. Florida's homicide rate has dropped 20 points. Drug overdoses are down 20%. Statewide, agencies have located and identified 7,400 missing children. In the last 15 months, sheris' o…ces seized enough fentanyl to kill 225 million Americans. None of it happens by accident; it happens because 67 sheriff's offices commit to coordination over isolation, and federal and state partners keep choosing to show up. That's what makes Florida a state other law enforcement agencies study, not just visit. Florida's track record is built one shared strategy at a time, and a partnership that keeps renewing itself every day.
