SHERIFF'S STAR 15 FLORIDA SHERIFFS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP FOR 2026-2027 At FSA's Sheriffs 2026 Summer Conference in Miami-Dade County new leadership was sworn in, marking the transition to a fresh Board of Directors committed to advancing the association's mission on behalf of Florida's 67 elected sheriffs. The ceremony underscored what the conference itself represents: a statewide commitment to coordination, shared strategy, and the partnerships that keep Florida's law enforcement community among the most effective in the nation. Marion County Sheri Billy Woods was sworn in as FSA president for 2026- 2027, bringing more than 36 years of public service to the role and a record of executive leadership shaped by his tenure as vice president under outgoing President and Seminole County Sheri Dennis Lemma. Under Woods' leadership, FSA will continue its focus on education, training, and legislative advocacy on behalf of Florida's sheriffs and the communities they serve. "Being chosen to lead the Florida Sheriffs Association is something I do not take lightly. It is a role I hold with great honor. At its heart, leadership means putting others first, and I am wholeheartedly dedicated to serving my fellow sheriffs and the citizens of this state with principle and resolve. I look forward to partnering with our board of directors and the outstanding FSA staff to move the Association's work forward and to make certain the Office of Sheri remains the foundation upon which public safety in Florida is built for generations ahead.
