Milwaukee Art Museum (MAM)
Celebrate 25 years of the Calatrava-
designed Quadracci Pavilion with Built to
Inspire at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
The installation explores the story of the
Quadracci Pavilion—known locally as "the
Calatrava"—through construction photogra
-
phy, a cinematic timelapse, and memorable
moments from Milwaukee's cultural life.
Designed by renowned architect and
engineer Santiago Calatrava, the Pavilion
has grown beyond an architectural land-
mark into a vibrant civic space shaped by
creativity, community, and connection.
Throughout the anniversary year, visitors
can enjoy films, tours, talks, performances,
community events, and interactive opportu-
nities to share their own museum memories.
This fall also brings The Shakers: A
World in the Making, opening Sept. 25,
and POWER, a dance, music, and voice
performance Oct. 1.
Built to Inspire: The Quadracci Pavilion
at 25 is on view in the Museum's Rotunda.
and free for visitors to experience.

Milwaukee Chamber Theatre
Milwaukee Chamber Theatre presents the
world premiere of Maybe We'll Fly, a new play
by award-winning Milwaukee playwright Marie
Kohler. Inspired by Wisconsin artist Mary Nohl,
the production explores art, the creative process,
and the freedom and joy of creating outside
conventional boundaries.
Part of MCT's "locally grown" lineup for its
2026-27 season, Maybe We'll Fly runs Sept. 18-
Oct. 11 at the Broadway Theatre Center's Studio
Theatre. Through themes of community, legacy,
identity, and the experience of being an outsider,
the play celebrates the courage to follow an
unconventional creative path.
Directed and choreographed by Elizabeth
Margolius, the production features a solo cello
score by Tony-nominated composer Josh Schmidt,
live music by Alicia Storin, and a cast including
Karen Estrada, Leslie Fitzwater, Emma Rosenthal,
Amelia Sajdak, and Lainey Techtmann.
