Dealer's Guide to CONEXPO February 2014 | Construction Equipment Distribution | www.cedmag.com | 23 Get Organized, Get the App For getting organized well in advance of the trip to Las Vegas, CONEXPO's interactive online show planner is a must. It's now available as a convenient mobile app that can be used to navigate the show as well. Search exhibi- tors by name, product booth number or hall/lot location, find maps, speakers and educational programs. Set your favorite exhibits, take notes and create a personalized show schedule that you can update as you walk the show. The app makes it easy to share news and information on social media and to download or e-mail exhibitor literature (competitors included). Save Your Legs, Take the Intra-show Shuttle Fortunately for dealers, show management has focused their efforts on making it easier to cover the mammoth exhibit space. The show's footprint was completely redesigned for better flow between indoor and outdoor exhibits and intra- show shuttles can now take you from one area to another. More people will also be in place to help you find your way. Avoiding long cab lines will reduce stress and save on the budget. Stay at one of the CONEXPO-CON/AGG hotels where you can hop a free shuttle to the show and back, or consider a three-day discounted pass on the Monorail ($24). It promises to get you from your hotel to the Convention Center in 15 minutes or less. CONEXPO-CON/AGG is no small expense for dealers, but Paula Bernard, president of C.N. Wood does believe the show has a positive influence on buyers. "It usually provides a psychological lift," she said. "People look forward to it; they get ready for it and go. When they get back they are invigorated by the new machines and what they saw – more so than in a typical March." For an industry that still hasn't returned to prerecession sales levels, the lift is welcome.
